Trunk Tales!

Last Friday we had our first TRUNK TALES VISIT!📖

Julie (our director) and Nikhil (Julie's son) came to the nursery with a fantastic range of books for adults and children. These books are available for our parents and children to borrow every 4 weeks and enjoy at home reading with their family.

The purpose of this initiative is to re-ignite the joy and enthusiasm in holding and reading a physical book! Sadly there is a dying culture of reading from actual books as over time books have been more accessible through alternative avenues such as audiobooks, online books and kindles but we would like to try and change that!

Why is reading important?

The gov.uk website emphasises the importance of reading especially from a young age. Reading ‘’helps your child’s wellbeing, develops imagination and has educational benefits too’’. Reading a few minutes a day with your child and modelling reading behaviour has a massive positive impact!
